Meatballs and Spaghetti

It’s the first week of January and the gym is packed. I find it funny that in just one month the number of these New Year’s resolvers will dwindle leaving more room to move in the gym classes. But for those of you planning a marathon of work outs, you’re going to need some fuel … Continue reading »

Blueberry Glazed Flanken

Blueberry season may be long gone, but this winter weather that is upon us is perfect for spending time in a kitchen warmed by multiple pots burbling away on your stove. Autumn-Perfect Cider-Braised Chicken

Chicken Jambalaya: A Southern Souvenir

I’ve got a theory about souvenirs – they ought to strike a balance between unique-and practical. In recent years more of my souvenir purchases are finding their way into my kitchen – like the metal tortilla press from San Diego and the glass olive oil cruet from Paris – I bought them in a shop … Continue reading »

Exotic Chicken Salad

If this week is about anything, it’s about purging. Whether it’s shedding the extra pounds that snuck on over the winter, organizing parts of our home that lay fallow, or the dreaded Passover cleaning. The latter can mean more than just vacuuming every crevice of your life – it can also mean eating up all … Continue reading »

’Tis the season to be competing

The first weekend in February two football teams duked it out on the field, the second weekend bedazzled music stars clamored for a Grammy and, on the final weekend of the month, our favorite tinsel town residents will get all fapitzed for the chance to go home with Oscar. But one competition that won’t be … Continue reading »
