Sweet Cheeks

This is a great recipe that Naf learned when he was traveling out West learning with some of the shochtim (who now work for us at Grow and Behold.)  It’s a great recipe to throw in the crock pot before you go out for a day of hard work, because when you come back you’ll have something most amazing waiting for you!  Beef cheeks, slow cooked, are in a class of their own: an incredibly silky, tender meat that kids (and grownups too) will love.

Easy Beef Cheeks

1 onion, medium dice
2 large carrots, 1″ rounds
2 garlic cloves, whole
1 bottle beer (optional)
2lbs Grow and Behold Beef Cheeks

Put all ingredients in crock pot.  Add enough water to fully cover the meat.  Cook on medium 6-8 hours until fork-tender.  Serve over wide noodles, with a side of salad, leafy greens and, if you plan ahead (and it’s worth it if you do!), No-Knead Crusty Bread.

    tried it this shabbos- amazing. Really simple and incredible taste and texture. I’d say the beer isnt so optional 🙂 i’d even play with adding some spices or other flavors to the liquid.
