Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

Slather this flavorful sauce on chicken drumsticks and wings, or lean cuts of beef like shoulder steak, pepper steak and kabobs.

1/4 cup soy sauce or Braggs Liquid Amino Acids
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, or 1/2″ fresh ginger, grated
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, or 1 garlic clove, minced
5 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1-2 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water

Combine cornstarch and 1/4 cup cold water in a small dish or measuring cup; stir to disolve.  Combine the rest of the ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to simmer. Add cornstarch and cook until sauce starts to thicken.

Optional: add thinly sliced scallions and/or orange juice to the marinade for extra flavor!
